Terms of Service

Last updated: September 20, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Goddard desktop application and website. By downloading or using Goddard, you agree to them.

The software

Goddard is a native desktop app for working with local coding agents. It is free to download and use. The Goddard source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0; your rights to copy, modify, and redistribute the source are governed by that license.

Bring your own subscription

Goddard runs the agent CLIs you already have installed and authenticated on your machine. Your use of those agents and their underlying models is subject to each provider's own terms, pricing, rate limits, and acceptable-use policies. We are not a party to your agreements with those providers, and we do not mark up or resell their services.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Goddard to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of others.
  • Interfere with or disrupt systems you do not own or control.

Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the credentials and subscription keys you configure, and for activity performed through them.
  • You are responsible for reviewing the changes agents make to your code. Agents can modify files, run commands, and produce incorrect output.
  • If you run a Goddard daemon or connect remote devices, you are responsible for securing those machines and the connections between them.

Disclaimer of warranties

Goddard is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that agent output will be correct or suitable for any purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Goddard and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, code, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the app or this website.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
